🌿 General Questions
What is Project 860 Waikiki?
Project 860 Waikiki is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting Hawaii’s most vulnerable communities through food security, disaster relief, workforce training, mentorship, and community partnerships. Our goal is to ensure that no one is left behind and that every individual and family has access to the resources and support they need to thrive.
Why is it called "Project 860 Waikiki"?
The name Project 860 Waikiki was inspired by Hawaii’s 860 miles of coastline, symbolizing our commitment to reaching every shore and serving every community in need. The organization was founded by Thomas W. Hawksley, who began his service to the people of Hawaii more than 30 years ago by helping the homeless population of Waikiki. Today, Project 860 Waikiki has expanded its mission to assist individuals and families across all of Hawaii’s islands.
Where are you located?
Project 860 Waikiki currently operates service locations in Waikiki, Kailua, and Kapolei and is working to establish facilities on each of the Hawaiian Islands to expand accessibility to those in need.
